Ridgeback 601GS - Single Speed Conversion

My inital foray into the dirty world of singlespeeds started when I bought this ageing mountain bike as a hack to take into university. I stripped the gears for simplicity and to reduce the its chances of being half inched.

I'm now a convert and have upgraded the brakes, stem and end bars to those off of my old Rockhopper. I use this bike as a winter commuter and for some offroad rides.
