To Do
My new discovery is sea kayaking; a great way to explore the coastline, gain views you would not otherwise be able to enjoy and see plenty of wildlife. Best of all, unlike cycle touring and hiking, weight is not a big issue so there is plenty of room for extra supplies.
Obviously I now need a whole new set of kit. The largest purchase so far has been my own boat, a Dagger Cortez which is pictured below.

Follow the links to below to learn more about some trips that I have been on so far. Nothing too extreme yet, but I have to start somewhere.
| Abel Tasman National Park My first experience of an extended sea kayaking trip in the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand. Myself and Lena did a two day paddle staying at a deserted bay before getting the water taxi back. |
| Shark Bay A 3 day paddle amongst amazing sea life in the sheltered Shark Bay, WA. Camping on deserted beaches and taking advantage of the (sometimes strong) southerly winds, it doesn't get much better than this. |
| Freo Paddle Day kayak on the Swan River from Matilda Bay to Fremantle and back. Plenty of chances to stop for coffee on the way as well. |
| Peel Inlet Kayak Starting from toy town Mandurah a two day explore of the very shallow Peel Inlet including a great wild camp on Grey Point where we dined on freshly caught crabs. |
| Nornalup Inlet A holiday within a holiday; myself, Simon, Zoe, Joel and Kathryn made an escape from the massed ODCers staying at Crystal Springs to explore the Nornalup Inlet for two days. |
| Hamelin Bay Three day sea kayak adventure from Hamelin Bay over the Australia Day long weekend. Lots of paddling, fishing, snorkeling, sand castle building amognst other activities |
| Rockingham to Perth Two day, 50km paddle from Rockingham to Perth through Fremantle Harbor and the Swan River as training for our Shark Bay trip. |
| Denham to Monkey Mia A week of paddling in the beautiful waters of Shark Bay. A year after first visiting this World Heritage Area I returned for this more adventurous trip. |
