To Do
Shown below is a chart summing the total distance I have cycled for each of the last few months. This chart is live and is updated automatically. Below that are the recent database entries for all rides that I complete over 10km in length.

Bit foolish to head out in the middle of the day for a ride, but Pat was visiting from France and was super keen to be shown around and I didn't have any other free time. If we kept moving and out of the sun it wasn't too bad. Climbing Gunjin on the singlespeed was a challenge. About 3/4 of the way up my legs went to jelly and I had to sit in eth shade for a while. Worth it because Blue Tag, Red Tag and Scorpion Trail are still super sweet even in the summer.
Bike: azzurri
Distance: 27.7 km
Hot cruise up the coast, stopping at Mullaloo for an icecream to retrieve the car from the previous night's shenanigans.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 31.5 km
On the downside very loose and sandy and Alfreds was shut. On the plus we got most of the way round in the light, saw the sunset from the top and it was the Eagle Trail. Now I want to ride it again. Everyday.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 21.9 km
Lots of nudity, not least from Clayton.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 102 km
Enough for 5th place in a very competitive male duos category. Highlight was having 61 minutes to complete my final lap before the end of the race. I did it in 57 - probably my second fastest lap.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 34.4 km
Intended as a shake down on for the major service I gave my Yeti, it soon became apparent that the new chain hadn't bedded in at all well. New chainring needed as well I fear.
First up we (David and Lynda in attendance) did the short, fun Kittys Gorge loop before heading over to Langford Park for a night lap of the 12 hour course.
Bike: lobster
Distance: 27 km
1.5 laps of the new 12 hour track with Lucy. I quite liked the track. Less fire road than last year but still no hills. We were considering riding for longer but as we rolled into the carpark my back brake pad disintegrated making that decision for us. Don't eat at the Jarrahdale pub. Ever.
Bike: azzurri
Distance: 67.7 km
Another far from ideal road ride. David had a puncture at Jutland Parade and then another slow one at Applecross. The muggy conditions didn't make for easy nor particularly enjoyable riding so I turned round and came the short way back south of the river from Canning Bridge. Hopefully this will be the last time on the road bike this year to allow me to do some much needed maintenance and find my enthusiasm for tarmac again. Longer weekend road rides may be the only way forward over summer I think.
Bike: azzurri
Distance: 90.2 km
I can't wait till this stupid 10000 challenge is done because a) I won't have to do all this tedious road riding b) I can stop overtraining and actually concentrate on sports that I need to like swimming, running and paddling and c) I won't have to try and think of something vaguely interesting to write on here about tarmac. Yes we went up some small hills, the scenery was lovely (you can tell I've been in WA too long) etc.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 33.5 km
Only a few hours later and I was meeting Muz and Pete for a morning ride from PB. Muz was struggling with rust, gravel and eventually an impressively bent rear rotor. Pete wasn't himself completely either so the ride lacked a bit of flow. Route was Kattamordo Switchbacks, Whore, White Tag, Blue Tag, Scorpion Trail, Reverse Scorpion Trail, Orange Tag, right onto Red Tag, Chudicth Bypass, Hacksaws, Lockwood Rd, Hoe, PB. Pete rode the tree with a big drop off on Scorpion Trail. Fair play to him.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 19 km
I know how to treat a girl on a saturday night. Up to the deserted Dell just as the last car was leaving for a fun singletrack ride. Reverse Scorpion (really needs a name) onto Orange Tag, Red Tag for bit. There is a new tree ride on Red Tag so we played around there for a bit taking some videos of me riding it badly. Blue Tag, Link Trail, Pink Tag, Car Track, all of Red Tag, Scorption Trail. Lucy rode really well on what was quite a technical ride, mainly in the dark. Afterwards I treated her to a burger at Alfreds. I'm not sure she knew exactly where she was going, when she asked if you would be able to wash her hands at the restuarant. Weekend night riding might be more of a feature in the summer months me thinks.
Bike: azzurri
Distance: 45 km
Nice cruise around the river with Lucy before work with reluctant legs.
Bike: yeti
Distance: 44.5 km
I have often wondered if this can be done as an evening ride. It turns out it can. Just. Myself and Pete didn't leave from Pickering Brook till 1800 but we barely stopped after that. The White Tag-Blue Tag combo was awesome that only made me feel guilty about all the road riding I have been doing recently. The pace rarely dropped below frantic meaning that we arrived back at PB at 2105.
